Rabbi Y. Ehrenberg
- 1950, born in Jerusalem – 7th generation in Israel, married, five children, five grandchildren
- 1975, received his rabbinical smicha (ordination) from the Torah College – worked eight years in a yeshiva in Jerusalem.
- 1983 – 1989, Rabbi of the Mizrahi Community in Vienna, Austria
- 1989 – 1997, Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Munich
- 1997 – to present, Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Berlin and member of the executive committee of the European Rabbinical Conference
Duties as rabbi of the Jewish Community of Berlin:
Lead daily prayer service at the Joachimstaler Strasse Synagogue.
Carry out religious ceremonies at circumcisions, bar and bat mitzvah, chuppah (marriage) and burials.
Oversee kashrut at kosher restaurants, dairies, bakeries and all facilities of the Jewish community.
Clarify and certify Jewish status as well as lecture and instruct children and adults on Judaism.
Chair the Schoraschim Association (Schoraschim e. V.), organise youth camps, head the Talmud Torah School and supervise the mikva.
