The volume that will be introduced to you is based on the contributions to the 2009 Bet Debora conference. The idea of this conference stemmed from questions like: Are we assimilating? Where is Home for us? Are we on the right way in construing our symbolic and real communities? How does migration continue to shape Jewish communities today, in the Diaspora and Israel? How does migration affect gender in communities? How does it affect women’s lives? What are the transformations that Judaism, Jewry, and Israel are likely to have to deal with, as we advance in the 21^st century? What could help European Jewry preserve its identity in the 21^st century? Could millennial tradition give us the answers or, while remembering, studying and respecting the past, we have to look for the most important answers in the present and the time yet to come?

Then there is the opportunity to share  thoughts by a glass of wine or juice.
