About us
The Heinz Galinski Foundation
On 28 November 1987, the Jewish Community of Berlin established the Heinz-Galinski Foundation to mark the 75th birthday of Dr. h.c. Heinz Galinski.
The purpose of the foundation is to promote religion, tolerance, education and understanding between peoples. It recognizes the special contributions of associations or individuals toward
- promoting understanding between the Jewish community and society in general;
- furthering Jewish spiritual and religious values;
- facing the history of National Socialism;
- reducing prejudices and alleviating disadvantages that minorities often face;
- promoting the security of the State of Israel and improving the relationship between Israel and the Federal Republic of Germany.
